Whilst not strictly AFSAD business, the soon to be up and running Propermusic.com has launched a brand new series of weekly podcasts produced and hosted by award-winning broadcaster Trevor Dann. Each week a rotating group of panellists including top music journalists, editors, producers, concert promoters, venue bookers and DJs will join Trevor Dann to discuss Proper Music’s new releases as well as a wide range of topical subjects. Over the coming months, the series will also feature interviews with label heads, artists and a variety of people working across the specialist music industry.

For the very first podcast, Trevor Dann is joined by BBC foreign correspondent and music journalist Robin Denselow, musician, promoter and founder of the Magpie’s Nest collective Sam Lee, and BBC Radio producer and freelance journalist Julian May to discuss Martin Simpson’s Purpose + Grace, The Cambodian Space Project’s 2011: A Space Odyssey and the collaborative Cecil Sharp Project 2011 as well as talk about their music highlights of the summer.

Week two finds Radio 2 producer Mark Hagen, The Guardian’s Executive Multimedia Producer Matt Hall and Properganda magazine editor Simon Holland (yes that’s me folks) sitting round the podcast table to discuss the latest releases from Nick Lowe, Tom Russell and Jackie Oates.

The Propermusic.com podcast will be available for download through SoundCloud and iTunes.
