Firstly Joe Offer from Mudcat posted a comment on today’s Babes In The Woods. I should make you aware of the excellent work he’s been doing tying together Mudcat information related to this project and you can link to that here. I suggest a bookmark to keep tabs of future entries. I will continue to add my own Mudcat links, but it’s worth checking with Joe as I won’t always hit the mark. As with Reinhard’s excellent Mainly Norfolk, it’s good to have someone else casting an eye and sorting additional detail and information, especially a Mudcat moderator.
Secondly I’ve started an Alternative Advent Calendar Of Song here. As you’ll see the first is Cutty Wren by Mawkin:Causley and the idea is to be somewhat secular in selection. I have a list of 25, many from the tradition that I think you’ll perhaps enjoy in parallel to those that Jon has chosen. Hopefully a little Christmas bonus then and I’ll schedule the second to go live at the same time as this blog does, although no podcast I’m afraid.
