Excellent idea John. Having not sung for many years I got back into it via Maddy Prior’s courses at Stones Barn many of which are designed to encourage exactly this. I now have about 7 songs!! but I try and learn more each year even if not one a day!! best wishes,

    Great idea
I can think of no better cause than to encourage the art of unaccompanied singing. We have such a rich store of songs that need to be sung and appreciated to help preserve and promote our heritage. All the best wishes

  4. Great concept, Jon, putting the ‘folk’ back into folk music. If more people sang, the world would be in a better state! I’m just getting into social singing in the pub with the excellent Fishguard Folk, and it’s a joyful thing.

I think this is a fantastic idea and will try to learn along with Jon. One of my most played cds is Voices all unaccompanied songs. If Mike Harding is the same man who played The Adelphi folk club in Swansea around 1969-70 then he is the first live artist I ever heard, aged 15 (preceding the Beach Boys ) and confirmed me as a life long folk fan and singer. I loved the Bellowhead gig at Pontardawe a couple of years ago, come again soon.
